The aim of Craftsmen Training Scheme(CTS) in ITIs is to (i) ensure steady flow of
skilled workers for industry (ii) raise the quality of production by the systemic
training of workers (iii) reduce unemployment among educated youth by equipping
them with skill / set of skills suitable for industrial employment /self employment.
The training scheme is governed under norms and standards prescribed by the Government
of India, Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship in Directorate General
of Training, New Delhi/ National Council for Vocational Training and administered
under Skill Development and Technical Education Department, Government of Odisha
through Directorate of Technical Education and Training, Odisha, Cuttack.
There are 48 numbers of Govt ITIs functioning in the State with NCVT affiliation/likely
to get NCVT affiliation in different trades/units on the pattern of CTS through
accreditation of Quality Council of India(QCI).The list of 48 numbers of ITIs with

All the Government ITIs are under administrative control of Directorate of Technical
Education and Training, Odisha under Skill Development Technical Education and Training,
Government of Odisha. In an important movement, Government have decided to implement
e-Admission module (Online Application & Centralize Selection) through Student Academic
Management System (SAMS) of Odisha Computer Application Centre (OCAC) for admission
into Government ITIs of the State during 2017-18 on following merits:
- Transparent system adhering to schedule of DGT, New Delhi
- Student will not have to apply off line to many ITIs to get trades of choice
- Cost effective both for ITI Administration and Students
- Ease of registering in NCVT MIS Portal.
- Robust database of waitlisted aspirants
